Forged in Commitment
With 14 Ten Eyck Trophies, 10 National Championships, 14 Olympians, and more than 70 National Team members, Wisconsin Rowing stands as the second most decorated program in the country.
This legacy of excellence started right here on Lake Mendota — in cold mornings, relentless training sessions, and a culture that demands the best from each athlete.
We don’t just build fast boats.
We build resilient leaders.
For 150 years, Wisconsin Rowing has built a legacy of grit, championships, and Olympians. Join alumni and supporters in powering Project 2030 and protecting the future of Badger rowing.
Our Mission

Protect the Tradition.
Power the Future.
Building on 150 years of excellence, the Stewards of 1874 is committed to sustaining and reigniting Wisconsin Men’s Rowing at the highest level. Through immediate support of Project 2030 and the long-term strength of a $50 million Legacy Fund, we are mobilizing the Badger community to ensure every generation has the resources to compete — and win — in the IRA Grand Final.
This is about protecting the standard and powering the future.
Why This Matters
Excellence Isn’t Accidental…
It’s Supported.
Elite performance requires elite resources.
Your support fuels:
- High-performance training
- Recruiting and retention of top talent
- Athlete wellness and academic success
- Equipment and facility enhancements
- Competitive travel and race opportunities
Without sustained alumni and supporter involvement, competitive excellence becomes harder to maintain.
With it, Wisconsin Rowing remains a national force.
